First project including sand as a key element. Sand presents a stark contrast to otherwise strictly defined piece.
Sculpture as environment - a play on the scale of things - has a landscape perspective
Early Work in Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture at Kansas University under Independent Study with Nick Vaccaro and Roger Shimomura ultimately led to injecting myself into the space as an element of the work. It was through this process that the transformative nature of performance was discovered.
Early Work includes a piece entitled Boxes, originally a solo performance created and performed by Brady at Franklin Furnace in New York, founded by Martha Wilson, the legendary curator of the avant-garde in New York in the early 70s. This work was performed in 1979, and has been the genesis of additional work pursuing the questions it raises and the insights it has provided.
